Asklepios was founded in 1985. Today, the hospital association with around 160 healthcare institutions is Europe’s largest hospital operator in private family ownership. Our entrepreneurial actions have always been aimed at future-oriented medicine geared to the highest quality standards for all patients entrusted to us. Through our wide range of services, we offer our 49,000 employees varied tasks and exciting challenges. We are represented in Germany in 14 federal states with medical institutions.

At the heart of our philosophy is people: Personal attention is also crucial in top medicine in order to get well again. Every patient should receive these to the best possible extent. In our facilities, our doctors and nurses treat more than two million patients every year. More than 27,000 beds are available for this.

In 2004, we took over the hospitals of the city of Hamburg and operate the largest private hospital network there at a location in Europe. Since September 2011, MediClin AG has been a majority member of our Asklepios Group. MediClin is a nationwide clinic operator and a large provider in the fields of neuroscience and psychosciences as well as orthopedics.

In addition to maximum, basic, regular and focus care, specialist hospitals with special areas operate far beyond the respective care region. As a carrier of rehabilitation clinics, we have the opportunity to guarantee all inpatient care from a single source and to occupy top positions nationwide. Our patients find outpatient support in our medical care centers.
